Yad Vashem
4 panoramas by yaniv sirton
The first time I saw a holocaust survivor was more then twenty years ago, as a child walking in the park with my mother.
We walked by a group of old people, an old woman sitting in that group was feeding birds with small pieces of bread, I approached the elderly woman and noticed that she had a long number tattooed on her hand.
I have asked my mother loudly: “mom why does this woman has a long number on her hand?” The old woman covered her hand with her sleeve… my mother told that woman that she is sorry for my behavior and pulled me away.
My mother told me that the old woman was a survivor of the holocaust and one day I will be old enough to understand the meaning of that word.
This project is dedicated to the people we must remember…

Little Haldon
1 panorama by ian james wood
Little Haldon Aerodrome – near Exeter in Devon – was requisitioned during the war for experimental purposes rather than as a flying base. There is little sign of the airfield left, but the area is still used by model aircraft enthusiasts.
